Working together, the agents free the ambassador Westland is promoted and proposes to Stacy. A diving vehicle must be maneuvered through sensitive magnetic fields without being detected.įinally Westland meets Stacy on the shores of Tunisia. After fighting with Soviet vessels, navigating his way through an iceberg field and repairing some malfunctioning devices, he must penetrate the electronic harbor surveillance of Tunisia. To reach his target, Westland travels in a nuclear-powered submarine, the USS Blackhawk. In the Pentagon, Westland is briefed and learns that Stacy is also an agent whom he must meet as soon as he reaches his goal. The night before returning to duty, he has a one-night stand with Stacy, a mysterious beautiful woman. Naval Officer Johnny Westland is informed about the situation during his leave in Tahiti and is called back for the rescue mission. While the Soviet and American governments try to acquire as much of the oil as they can, Soviet-backed terrorists kidnap a US ambassador in hopes of provoking an international incident. In One Night Stand, explore the stranger’s bedroom and seek out clues to identify who she is and what brought you both together. The story takes place during a future global oil shortage, Tunisia is suddenly discovered to possess a surplus of high-grade oil. After a night of fun, passion, and one too many drinks, you wake up the next morning to find a complete stranger lying naked beside you in bed. Much of the story (which features Cold War and Soviet villains) is outdated in hindsight, the scenario is partially prophetic of the 2000s energy crisis which began in 2003. One of ICEMAN's most notable features is that a large portion of it takes place in a submarine a portion of the game also requires the player to navigate the sub using an extremely scaled-down model. Mention of a "Codename: PHOENIX" in Sierra promotional material suggests that ICEMAN was meant to be the first part of a Codename series, but disappointing sales ended the would-be franchise after one game. The lead designer was Jim Walls, who also created several Police Quest games. Codename: ICEMAN is a graphical adventure game made with the SCI engine and published by the American computer game company Sierra On-Line in 1989.

When smoothing the plaster you can work with boards or metal levellers and simply run the up the wall to smooth out the surface and remove excess plaster. Not only will you have enough plaster but you can easily smoothen it out and level it when working with the trowel tool on different surfaces/textures or walls. “Scooping” up to two trowels onto the wall at a time, and using your angling blade to smooth out the surfaces is a great way to start. Not only to help keep you on track, but also to ensure you don't go off the surface you are working with onto surfaces which shouldn't have plaster on them. External angle beads are also ideal for tight corners or edging you are working on. You can start with thin coats, and you can initially use stop beads to ensure you don't go over edges or over-apply the plaster you are working with. This is a task which you'll only get better at with time. Using clean, cold water, and placing it in the bucket before the plaster, will make mixing easier and allow you to achieve the desired texture with less effort. This will allow you to see the texture, firmness and whether you need to adjust the base prior to using it on any surface or project you are actually going to do work on. Simply mix to the desired smoothness/texture, and apply a test coat to a “waste” board or drywall sheet. With finishing plasters or board plasters, you can use a mixing paddle and small bucket. It not only mixes quickly, it also removes any lumps that are in the plaster base, to ensure a smooth finish on the surfaces you are working on. Ideally, a cement mixer is a great tool to have. Depending on the thickness, the amount being used and the surfaces you will apply it to, the finish is going to differ for each project. In order to work with it, you are going to initially have to mix the plaster base. It is adhesive, powerful and typically will only require one coat when you are working on larger projects. It is typically used on surfaces 25 mm or smaller, but some manufacturers claim it can be used on areas of up to 50 mm. This is ideal for a smooth finish, when you just want to apply a single coat of plaster. Board finish is great for lower levels or surfaces, traditional around floor or wall-boards. When finishing plaster on various surfaces, it is a great option for optimal levels of adhesion. Drywall plaster is exactly what the name says, it is intended as a coat or adhesive when working on drywall.Ī multi finish plaster can be used on various surfaces/finishes and textures. Like the hard wall variety, tougher coat plaster is ideal for coverage, and suitable up to 11 mm in depth. It can be used on masonry surfaces, and is a great undercoat or base layer when working on projects. If you are plastering a surface which needs more resistance or greater strength, this is the plaster you are going to want to choose. When raking out joints, or covering a surface, this plaster is a great base coat for you to apply before you do skimming and levelling work on a surface. This is another type of plaster which is also used as a base layer or coat, however it is best on porous surfaces. It is extremely sticky so you can easily place other coats/types of plasters above it, when reinforcing a wall or surface you're working on. It is an undercoat or the first coat you would apply and will serve as an ‘undercoat' to the outer layer of plaster that goes above it. This type of plaster is used to bond materials. There is more than one type of plaster you can work with when plastering a wall. That is why we have compiled a thorough list of the best characters from best to worst. Also the second-in-command was armed the same way as regular rifleman. This was the regular amount, according to Buchner more rounds were issued in case of a combat situation. Now, each rifleman had around 9 clips for his rifle with 5 shots each, thus 45 rounds. Note that the “German Squad in Combat” indicates a pistol instead of a rifle as a weapon for the ammo carrier, but it seems that this is incorrect and is probably from an old layout, when the squad consisted of an LMG and rifle team. Unlike the assistant he was issued a rifle not a pistol. He carried two Ammo boxes with 300 rounds each. There was also an ammo carrier assigned to the machine gunner, whose job was to carry and supply ammunition. Additionally, one ammo box with 300 rounds weighing 11.53 kg. The assistant gunner carried 4 ammo drums with 50 shots and a weight of 2.45 kg each. The machine gunner was equipped with an MG 34 and later on with an MG42, he was also issued a pistol and an ammo drum with 50 rounds. Initially all men besides the machine gunner and his assistant were equipped with the “Karabiner 98 kurz”, the German standard rifle, even the Squad leader, yet around 1941 he was issued a MP40 submachine gun with 6 magazines of 32 shots each. The German Infantry Squad in World War 2 for the most part consisted of 1 squad leader and 9 infantry men, thus a total of 10 men. Let’s begin with organization and armament. It is a partial translation of a German publication and using other sources, I could correct some small errors and inconsistencies, nevertheless take everything with a grain of salt, especially since manuals and combat realities often differ. Second, the main source for this is the US Manual “German Squad in Combat” from the Military Intelligence Service released in January 1943. Two important points, first a squad rarely acted alone on the battlefield, it was used in coordination with other squads of its platoon and/or company. Time to take a look a German Squad Tactics in World War 2. You can tune your instrument visually and customize the sound by using stompbox effects. Using a variety of highly realistic amp sounds that combine a guitar or bass amplifier with one or more stompbox effects, you can connect an electric guitar or electric bass and play it.īy using GarageBand for iPad, you can create a diverse range of high-quality amp sounds. Slash designed the Marshall-themed amps that the company makes in collaboration with Fender, Orange, Soldano, MESA/Boogie, and Engl, as well as a line of Marshall-styled amps. A guitar rig that looks and feels exactly like a real guitar rig is exactly what you get with the Amplitube iRig app. When bundled, they may offer discounts on the three apps included. It enables you to export preset data to share online and download it to other devices via a web server. This application can be used with the iPhone or iPad to enable ‘virtually all headset and dock guitar interfaces.’ The recorder includes built-in recording capabilities, as well as a metronome and tuner. It’s fantastic to hear how digital signal processing works. We will first look at the most popular apps, which have been around for years and have a large following. Some apps have a wide range of fringes, such as recording within the app, looping, and so on. Many of these apps include the Inter-App feature, which Apple introduced a few years ago. It is critical to have features such as high-quality sound, latency, and the ability to run in the background in order to run digital signal processing. The in-app purchases section is a good place to start if you want to make a purchase. The app that comes with these apps appears to be inexpensive or even free, but the key is understanding what they include in addition to the amps, cabinets, microphones, and effects. The fact that they create hardware and plugin versions of the app makes some developers well known. Amps and effects are available for purchase. It looks like it works similarly to Smoothie 3D and Archipelis, except that the objects created don’t have to be symmetrical and you can paint directly onto the models you create in the program rather than having the image reference mapped as the texture. It is aimed toward children for 3D printing use. The other day I also came across a Japanese software called MagicalSketch 3D. It is a software that creates 3D objects from 2D strokes. It has since been discontinued because the developer has been working on a newer tool for Unity called Clayxels. The developer Andrea Interguglielmi used to work at Dreamworks. I came across an experimental project called Galumph. Unfortunately the actual software is pretty outdated, but it was ahead of its time. If you are interested in the science of the technique behind the software there is lots of information here. A software developer called Ryan Schmidt worked on a project called ShapeShop. I did some research and also came across some other sketch based modelling software. This limitation was overcome by exporting mesh parts and using them in Blender though. Archipelis is limited to creating simple symmetrical models, whereas I was able to lock images to parts of meshes in Smoothie 3D and move those mesh parts around to create non-symmetrical models. There were some useful features from Smoothie 3D I wish had been included in Archipelis but it is useful if you combine it with Blender. The parts were imported into Blender where I sculpted a bit more detail and painted them before rigging the model and posing it. I created the torso, arms and tail in Archipelis and then exported the mesh parts as obj files. Squirrel Mascot for the Art Squirrel Blog |
